The sun was up, the water was high, and the bugs were out! Some of the guides had a day off to fish and floated 8 hours on the Soho! The sulphurs turned on right after lunch and we were one of about 4 boats who lined up to take advantage of the hatch. We had luck on double comparadun style yellow sulphurs on 6x tippit. We also had luck floating larger nymphs to catch a few solid fish as well! Numbers were high and I'd say the middle section of the float was most productive. On these wild TN rivers having your rig dialed in is key. If you're not catching fish, you are probably doing something wrong. Keep adjusting till you find something that works, AND make sure your bugs are getting down as fast as possible to where they need to be!
Fishing with a Musician launches TODAY! With help from musicians and fishing guides from across the country, such as Charles Humphrey III (Songs From The Road Band) and CJ Cain (Tyler Childers & The Foodstamps), you will have the chance to bid on a fishing trip with the musician of your choice. The top bid will have the one-of-a-kind opportunity to secure one day of guided fishing with a musician, followed by a unique post-river pick with your artist. This initiative will allow Can'd Aid to continue to protect waterways that we know and love while also providing instruments and music lessons for students in need. Get'yur bid on!
